Explain

How it works

  1. The agent requests a credential when it needs to log in somewhere
  2. You approve on your own device
  3. 1Password autofills directly into the login form, so the agent never sees the plaintext password

Launch integrations

  • Meta Muse
  • Anthropic Claude Duet
  • OpenAI ChatGPT Work / dots
  • Grok Bot
  • Town Townie

Coming soon: Browserbase, Browser Use, Perplexity, Ramp, KERNEL and more.

Why it matters

As AI agents increasingly act on the web for users, handing them account access without leaking passwords becomes a core security problem. 1Password for Agents answers it with a human-approval + direct-autofill model from a mainstream password-manager brand.

Usage

How to use it

  • Price: free for 1Password.com Individual and Family accounts
  • Requirements: a 1Password account plus one of the integrated AI agent products
  • Flow: the agent needs to log in → you get a request on your device → approve → 1Password fills the form

Who it's for

  • People who let AI agents handle logged-in tasks such as bookings, shopping or dashboards
  • Developers and teams focused on agent security and credential management
